The difference between a relative link and an absolute link

The difference between a relative link and an absolute link is relative links are much shorter while absolute links always contains the full address of a page. I have relative links to different pages on my website but an absolute link like to to Zelda Wiki is outside my website so it contains the full address. That is important because it affects navigation on a website it is important to have good navigation so that you get more people going onto your website, having a navigation bar helps to make navigation easy for the viewers because they don’t have access to the pages like the creator of the website has. Navigation is important for organization of the website.

Comparing Web Design Options

I like working with code directly and you can do that with all three of the web design options however it is much easier with HTML and Dreamweaver also honestly used more in those two. While Word press is easier to set up a whole site that’s actually on the internet and updates in real time is cool. I fin myself liking word press more even though I like coding directly it can get frustrating when you mess one thing in the code and it doesn’t work. Though if I had more practice with coding I think I would use HTML and Dreamweaver since you don’t have to buy more options its just there and you can use those sites to create different things. I learned how to code a cool rainbow effect in HTML which is cool and how to make things move when you enter a page which made the site look like a one of those pop up ads. Word press made it really easy to just pull some pictures off the internet and add them to a page or post which added a lot to how the blog looked. While Dreamweaver in my opinion had the most options and it completed code for you so you can’t mess up as easily. Honestly if I had to learn more on any of these it would be Word press because if I learn enough about I could build a functioning blog and have a place to post about Zelda. Adjusting Settings and Configuration

The purpose of the setting section is so that people can change how the reader interacts with the website and how the website is. I will probably use the general and performance parts the most since I really don’t care how people post on my website. Though I might use the writing settings if something does not respond right when I’m posting. I Found out you can turn off infinite scroll I have never visited a website without it. I might change more settings if problems arise but I don’t try to mess too much with the settings because if you mess up the settings than you gotta go back through all the settings just to find the thing you changed that messed it up and you can’t just return the setting to standard or more problems will arise.

Adding a Video

Adding videos to a site can help show people what your website is about and can help explain concepts on your site. The texts in the title of the video and the subtitles is to help explain information and to explain what the video is about. Closed captioning can tell what is happening in the video and helps if you can’t hear the video or re just not following what’s happening. The difference between an embedded video and a link to a video is that you play the embedded video on the page while a link will probably take you to a different site and you can see the thumbnail with an embedded video. This video was helpful with word press in general but I didn’t watch the whole thing and it has helpful bar segments that are labeled so that you can skip to the part you need.

Change Your Theme

My list of themes 1. Karuna 2 Arcane 3. Intergalactic 2 4. Libretto 5. Lovecraft. I like themes that have easy navigation and look pretty. I like the color scheme of Karuna and its navigation bar, though the picture doesn’t fit it still looks good. The first thing that stands out to me is the color and the back round picture, I like dark and bright colors next to dark colors. I also like how it shows my navigation bar instead of having to click on something for the drop down menu all they have to do is click on whichever one they want. Honestly one of the challenges was all the silly names like Ixion or Aquene i’m sure they just picked names that were fun to spell. Personally I picked intergalactic 2 because I like space but Karuna’s color scheme is better.

Categories and Tags

Categories and tags helps reader find the post they want to and are very useful. I would use categories to separate post about wordpress and those of zelda since those appeal to diffeent people, though they sometimes overlap. I would use tags to just give a general idea about the post itself and to help differentiate posts more. The categories and tags I used were zelda and wordpress since those are the two types of posts I make, however I was thinking in the future I could put different zelda categories for the different types of post I make about it such as zelda lore, zelda theories, or zelda facts. I would also like to put different tags in the future like the people in zelda i’m talking about like the champions or the divine beasts. School from home takes a lot of effort since I like to procrastinate however it has been a little nice.

Adding Pages To My Site

The process of adding pages to my site was easy after I found that you need to click on page attributes. I organized my pages into four pages all on a certain divine beast Vah Medoh, Vah Rudania, Vah Naboris, and Vah Ruta. Then I broke those down by each having a sub page of the bosses in each divine beast Fireblight Ganon, Waterblight Ganon, Windblight Ganon, and Thunderblight Ganon. Then each person who used to control the divine beast Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa. I want to go into more detail about these things since the sequel is in development. There is a difference between a post and a page for example you can add themes for different pages and create multiple post within a page. While in just a post you only have maybe one picture and whatever you type up, with pages you can go into more depth and be more specific. Especially when you have sub pages within those pages to create . Also if you want to make it easier to find that information having it on its own pages helps with navigation.

Are Images a way of Communication Now?

I believe that the phrase a picture is a 1000 words to hold true it is easier to communicate some emotions through a picture. Using more picture in something connects better with the reader since they may not understand what you are trying to convey. Also pictures and visuals help engage a reader so that they don’t loss interest. Working with images can be frustrating though when you can’t find one you like and you just go through so many images. However I still like to use images because I may be able to visualize something that I can not convey. Visuals can also make websites catch the eyes of reader so you can get more traffic with good images. Visuals give a certain level of power to what the reader see as well.

Initial Reaction Of WordPress

Many people online say that WordPress is a good start to make a website. However there seems to be the issue of navigation in the menus and the amount of money that it costs to unlock everything the website builder has to offer. I agree with what they said seeing as I had some issues with navigating the website. I personal like Dreamweaver more I like coding by hand and I like the structure of that website better. These were some of the helpful articles I used. https://www.arcstone.com/blog/pros-and-cons-of-wordpress-cms . This information was useful sine I never thought about SEO.
